THE AI NAMING AGENCY
For the company you’re building.
And the name you haven’t found.
Give your next
chapter a name.
We’re a naming agency for software founders.
Built with AI. Grounded in research.
Here to help you make the choice.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF AGENCY
Serious about names.
Open about AI.
A name carries your first impression, your ambitions and the way people talk about what you’re building. It deserves a considered process.
Untaken brings five naming disciplines into one AI-led engagement. We investigate, explore and evaluate, then explain the recommendation. You bring the context and make the final call.
THE WORK BEHIND THE WORD
Five disciplines.
One naming agency.
Each role has a specific job.
Each stage builds on what came before.
01The strategist
Find what the name needs to do.
We get to know your product, your audience and why naming has become difficult. We separate the requirements that matter from the preferences you can weigh.
A creative brief, a naming thesis and clear criteria for choosing.
02The researcher
Look beyond the obvious words.
We study your category, competitors and customer language. Then we look into other worlds that express the benefit of your product—finding material for ideas with substance.
Relevant insights, source material and directions worth exploring.
03The creative
Turn possibilities into names.
We explore distinct territories, develop concepts within them and turn those concepts into names. Real words, unexpected associations and new constructions all have a place when they serve the brief.
Different creative directions and candidates with a reason to exist.
04The evaluator
Make the trade-offs visible.
We assess sound, spelling, associations and strategic fit, then compare candidates with your requirements. Domain evidence is checked for the exact spelling, acquisition route and quoted cost; missing evidence stays unresolved.
A clear view of strengths, weaknesses, practical constraints and open checks.
05The decision advisor
Help you make the call.
We bring the strongest options together, explain which one we recommend and show the compromises. If the evidence isn’t ready, we identify the next step instead of forcing a winner.
A considered recommendation, meaningful alternatives and a decision report.
Five specialist AI roles within one process. Your brief and feedback connect them.
You can always generate
another hundred names.
The work is knowing
which one to choose.
We’re here for the moment when the tabs are open, the list keeps growing, and your company still doesn’t have a name.
We help you understand what makes a name strong, what could hold it back and which compromises you can live with.
SOMETHING YOU CAN DECIDE WITH
The name.
The reasoning.
The whole picture.
Your report brings the creative work and the practical evidence together. Keep the possibilities. Understand the trade-offs. Choose with a clear head.
Explore a sample reportIllustrative exploration, not a client case study.
Its domain results are historical and require rechecking.
A recommendation with reasons.
Why the leading name fits your brief, its main weakness, and when an alternative would be the better choice.
The names that nearly made it.
A longlist with the actual reason each option was set aside. A domain constraint doesn’t erase a good creative idea.
The practical picture.
Exact domain results, sources, check dates and quoted prices where available. Unresolved checks remain visible.
A clear decision—or next step.
Accept an understood compromise, resolve a specific check or reconsider a requirement. Every outcome has a reason.

Domain purchases and trademark clearance are separate.

BEFORE WE BEGIN
A few things
worth knowing.
Is this an agency or an AI tool?
Untaken is an AI naming agency. The service follows a full naming engagement: strategy, research, creative development, evaluation and decision advice. Those roles are performed by AI. You provide the context, give feedback and decide what to launch with.
Who is Untaken for?
English-speaking founders naming an early-stage software, SaaS or AI company or product. Especially if you’ve already tried generators, checked domains and found yourself back at the beginning.
Will I get an available .com?
Your domain requirements and budget shape the work. We don’t promise an available .com or treat a premium listing as an ordinary registration. When the evidence is incomplete or no strong option meets the brief, we say so and explain the next decision.
Does this include trademark clearance?
No. Category research and domain checks do not establish legal clearance. Trademark clearance is a separate step with a qualified professional before you commit.
What if I don’t like the first names?
Your reaction helps identify what needs to change: the direction, the construction or a constraint. A further round should solve a specific problem and stay within the agreed scope.
LET’S START WITH WHAT YOU’RE BUILDING
YOUR NEXT CHAPTER / 01Before the name,
there’s your idea.
Put the product, the people and the requirements
into a short brief. Good naming starts there.
A few thoughtful questions. A clear starting point.
